Dr. Joanne Santiago came to Avon in 1984 after practicing Chiropractic in New Jersey for ten years with her parents and two brothers, also Chiropractic Physicians. She has been active in Chiropractic education and has served on the New York Chiropractic College Board of Trustees. In addition, she served as an examiner for the National Chiropractic Licensing Board.
Dr. Joanne is active in the Connecticut Chiropractic Association and has served many levels on the board, she is Past President. She also serves as Past President of the North East Chiropractic Council. Dr. Santiago received a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Rutgers University, a Masters in Nutrition from Bridgeport University., a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Columbia Institute of Chiropractic, now called New York Chiropractic College. In addition, she holds a diplomate in Chiropractic Sports Medicine, and a Diplomate in Chiropractic internal Disorders, and completed hours in acupuncture and dry needling and impairment rating.
Dr. Joanne Santiago provides conservative, gentle care to her patients from newborn to geriatrics. She is active in her community serving as past president of the Rotary of Avon-Canton and now is on many committees as well as Foundation chair.
Dr. Santiago delivers holistic chiropractic care with physiotherapy, acupuncture, dry needling and nutrition for internal disorders and weight reduction.

Chiropractic Physician
Dr. Joelle Santiago is a chiropractic physician and is the sixth chiropractor in three generations of the Santiago family. Dr. Joelle’s chiropractic studies were completed at the University of Bridgeport School of Chiropractic. Dr. Joelle particularly has an interest in nutrition and rehabilitation. She is a certified Shape Reclaimed practitioner, and is eager to help patients achieve their nutritional and health goals. Currently, Dr. Joelle serves as the 3rd Vice President for the Connecticut Chiropractic Association Executive Board. She is also the current Vice President and Treasurer of the North East Chiropractic Council. She is also an active member of the Avon Chamber of Commerce. During her time as a student, she served as President of the Student Connecticut Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Joelle has lectured nationally and on the state level on Cultural Competency in the Clinical Setting, as she is passionate about creating an inclusive and understanding environment for all patients. Dr. Joelle’s other passions include working with and advocating for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, creating healthy recipes, as well as exploring new countries.
